28 January, After Hutton — End the War Lies! More than 60 representaitives of leading UK peace, democratic and anti-war organisations and individuals attended this meeting, organised by the CND, hosted by Alice Mahon MP. Most of the discussions centred on the Hutton report's whitewashing of the government on the issue of war on Iraq, the threat to democracy and the independence of the BBC, and the relationship between the Iraqi people’s struggle for democracy and the world's democratic movement. Speakers included Dr. Glen Rangwala of Cambridge University, IDAO secretary Sabah Jawad, Jeremy Corbyn MP, Kate Hudson, Chair of CND, Lindsey German, anti-war coalition and Chair of the Green party, Hugo Charlton, Click for text of Hugo's speech.
